The evolving proposal near the Brightline station now includes hundreds of residences, condos, offices, a hotel, and a reimagined Memorial Park, potentially reshaping traffic and daily life around downtown.

Boca Raton Proposes Stricter Rules for the Sale or Lease of City-Owned Land (tapinto.net) — Boca Raton officials are weighing a new ordinance that would require public hearings and written findings before any large city-owned parcel can be sold or leased. The proposal, requested by Mayor Scott Singer, aims to boost transparency and ensure land deals clearly serve residents’ interests. The university is highlighting its active shooter response plan, emergency alerts, and blue light call boxes while urging students to stay aware, know exit routes, and report anything suspicious.
