Boca Raton Public Library Presents the Art Exhibit, 'Lighthouse Keeper – The Art of Timothy Leistner' (bocaratontribune.com) — Boca Raton residents can explore a free lighthouse-themed art exhibit by award-winning artist and educator Timothy Leistner at the Downtown Library from January 20 through February 27, 2026. The show highlights lighthouse imagery meant to evoke safety, honor, and hope, and is available during regular hours at 400 NW 2nd Avenue.
   

2. Boca Raton Museum of Art Requests $100K City Grant for 2025-26 Exhibitions and Programs (tapinto.net) — Boca Raton’s City Council will soon decide whether to award a $100,000 grant to the Boca Raton Museum of Art to fund upcoming exhibitions, education programs, and the 39th Annual Museum Art Festival at Mizner Park. New Boca Raton village calls for nearly 800 residences, a hotel, shops, restaurants and more (sun-sentinel.com) — A proposed University Village development in Boca Raton could bring 781 residences, a hotel, shops, offices, and a transit center to 77 acres east of I-95 near FAU and the Tri-Rail station. Developers compare it to a larger Mizner Park, while nearby residents are already raising questions about traffic and environmental impacts as the project seeks city approvals.
   

4. Boca Raton man arrested for making over 1,000 harassing calls to ex-girlfriend (wpbf.com) — A Boca Raton resident has been jailed after deputies say he made more than 1,000 harassing and threatening calls to his ex-girlfriend in just a week, violating a court order to stay away. Investigators report a pattern of stalking behavior that left the victim’s family living in fear, and the man now faces multiple felony charges while the case continues.
   

5. Hero who saved survivors of 1982 Air Florida crash had been Boca banker (palmbeachpost.com) — Longtime residents may be surprised to learn that the man widely believed to have given his life saving survivors of the 1982 Air Florida crash once served as president of a Boca Raton bank. The story revisits Arland Williams Jr.’s ties to Boca and Palm Beach County while recounting how his apparent sacrifice in the icy Potomac still inspires decades later.
