200 Gallons of Fuel Spill in Morning Crash
The driver of a Neon was injured when her car struck a semi-truck Friday morning.

One driver was hurt and 200 gallons of diesel fuel spilled on State Road 62 Friday morning, after a car lost control and hit a tractor-trailer truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Adrian Cervantes, 23, suffered serious injuries, when her 2005 Dodge Neon veered out of control and hit a 2007 semi-truck, rupturing its fuel tank, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The truck driver was not injured.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that at 7:45 a.m. Friday, April 26, Cervantes was driving her Neon east on State Road 62, just east of County Road 37.

Cervantes, lost control of the Neon on a curve, and veered into the westbound lane, striking a 2007 semi-truck driven by Peter Osekowski of Illinois, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The truck left 287 feet of skid marks, as the driver took evasive action. The Neon spun around, as it hit the truck, and came to a final rest on the south grassy shoulder. The truck's fuel tank ruptured on impact, spilling fuel in the westbound lane.

Cervantes was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital. Cervantes faces a charge of failing to maintain within a single lane, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
