5 Things You Need To Know This Weekend: Feb. 12-13

Each weekend, Bradenton Patch offers five quick things to keep in mind.

1. Barcarrota Boulevard will be transformed into an outdoor craft showcase for the , 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Local and national crafters were hand-selected by American Craft Endeavors, a major producer of craft fairs nationwide and will put their folk art, pottery, handmade jewelry and clothing and more on display, with prices ranging from $3 to $3,000. 2. Continuing on the artistic theme, will hold an Art Blast, featuring demonstrations, workshops, a paint around, three raffles and special deals and prices, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

4. Drivers should expect tempo­rary nighttime lane closures on Manatee Avenue East/State Road 64 between 12th Street East and U.S. 301 from Sunday through Feb. 25. Paving crews will be performing asphalt and resurfacing operations from 7 p.m. each night until 6 a.m. the next morning.

5. The Bradentucky Bombers host their season opener Sunday night at Astro Wheels, where they'll take on the Fort Myers Palm City Punishers in roller derby action. Proceeds from the bout will benefit the Women's Resource Center. Tailgating begins at 6 p.m. with free beer provided by The Distillery Tavern. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the bout starts at 7.
