5 Things You Need To Know This Weekend: January 21-23

It's the last weekend for the Manatee County Fair, it's Mainly Art at the downtown Farmer's Market and the Manatee Players will hold auditions Sunday.

1. This is the final weekend for the Manatee County Fair. The fair ends with full schedules for Saturday and Sunday. The Manatee County Fair is held at the Manatee County Fairgrounds in Palmetto. A Midway Armband is available Saturday for $20. Enjoy the Midway rides from noon to midnight. On Sunday armbands are avaiable for $18 for noon to 7 p.m.

2. The State College of Florida Student Government Association and No Name Tennis Club will host the SCF Scholarship Flea Market in the parking lot at 26th St. West and 60th Ave. West at SCF Bradenton. The Flea Market will  include sales of small, donated items. Other vendors have rented space on the campus. Proceeds from the annual fundraiser provide scholarships for SCF students who are single parents. 3. This morning features Mainly Art at the in downtown Bradenton. Handmade crafts, jewelry, unique items, and fresh squeezed lemonade from Leah. The weekly Farmers Market, held on Old Main Street, offers fresh food vendors, produce, plants and flowers, jewelry, and arts and crafts set to easy-listening, live music. The market is designed to support local farmers and growers and local businesses. It is also intended to be a social gathering place where families and friends can relax on Old Main Street street while browsing for fresh food.

4. The , 5328 24th St E., is offering a car wash today from 9 a.m. to noon today. The car wash is a fundraiser to support organization's basketball program. By getting kids in the gym, they believe they can keep them out of trouble. The money can help pay travel expenses for the boys traveling basketball teamas it competes in tournaments around the state. The fundraiser will also help the regular in-house basketball team.

5. will hold auditions at 7 p.m. Sunday for upcoming plays “RING OF FIRE” (musical) with performances March 29 thorugh April 15, and  “SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS” (musical) with performances May 3 through May 20. Auditions will be held at 102 Old Main Street in downtown Bradenton. Questions about all auditions should be directed to Rick Kerby at 941-748-0111.
