5 Things You Need To Know Today: December 15

Get Down Downtown moved to Friday, Diamond Rio plays in Bradenton and you can get a $20 ride to the state football championship.

1. Get Down Downtown has been moved from tonight to Friday night.

2. Tickets are on sale for Friday night's State Championship game. Hurricanes take on First Coast at 7 p.m. at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. Tickets are $12. A bus ride with other Manatee High School fans will cost $20 per seat. Get your tickets at the Manatee High School ticket office during regular school hours.

3. of Bradenton will host a holiday concert featuring the Grammy Award winning country band, Diamond Rio. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the church, 1306 Manatee Ave. W. Tickets are available for $25 and $20.

4. Celebrate the start of the winter season with chilly tales complete with snow, ice, romance, thrills and laughs. The popular Film Fridays program will offer “Winter Stories” at 6 p.m. most Fridays in December. This Friday is "Groundhog Day" – 1993, Rated PG, 103 minutes. Bill Murray is stuck in the wintery landscape of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania as a miserable weatherman who is forced to relive one of his least favorite times – the annual Groundhog Day Festival.

5. The final of the year takes place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This week its Mainly Art at the downtown Farmers' Market. Buy one-of-a-kind artwork and hand-made creations by dozens of local artists and craftspeople.
