Santa's helpers are available to area seniors this season,

1. Seniors who need a little help around the house this Holiday Season, can call “Santa’s Helpers for Seniors.” To share the Joy of the Season, Comfort Keepers is offering a free visit from a Santa helper. Comfort Keepers will stop by to help with making a holiday meal, pick up food at the store, help address envelops and mail, get you to a doctor's appointment, help decorate your home, bake some goodies or straighten up your home for visiting family. Any needy senior without help otherwise is welcome to call. Just call 921-4747 to speak with Santa and mention the Santa Helpers for Seniors. Help is available through Dec. 20.
2. Make plans to be downtown this weekend for the 16th annual Winter Wonderland. The family-friendly festivities begin Saturday at 5 p.m. along Old Main Street. The event’s signature attraction, snow sledding mountains, will be in the parking lot north of Old Main Pub. A parade departs from the south end of Old Main Street around 6 p.m. to escort Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus to the entrance of Westminster Courtyard, 222 Old Main St., where they will meet with visitors until about 8:30 p.m. Bradenton Yacht Club’s 14th Annual Holiday Boat Parade, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, is expected to pass the downtown waterfront around 8:30 p.m.
3. is in need of your old newspapers. Drop them off at the downtown adoption center or the Animal Services Center in Palmetto.

4. “Holiday Music Magic” will be presented in the Museum’s Tuesday to Sunday through Dec. 24. Enjoy your favorite holiday songs from the past and present. The soundtrack is visually choreographed with 3-D artistic animation and all-dome scenery. The special screenings will be featured at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, noon on Saturdays and 12:30 p.m. on Sundays.
