5 Things You Need to Know Today: July 18

It promises to be an entertaining day from "Hell's Kitchen" to on-location filming, Bradenton is a star.

1.  Euphemia Haye sous chef Jamie Gregorich appears in the ninth season of  “Hell’s Kitchen,” premiering tonight at 8 p.m. on Fox. The reality show stars celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. Gregorich is a 2004 graduate of . Gregorich has trained under owner/executive chef Raymond Arpke since she was hired in 2007 as a "Garde Manager,” prepping cold appetizers and salads.

2. Joshua Ingle, a University of Central Florida graduate student and a graduate of , is shooting a feature film beginning this week in Bradenton and Sarasota. Shooting will continue through the middle of August and include on-location shots at the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, downtown Bradenton, Palmetto and in Sarasota. 3. The National Hurricane Center is reporting that tropical depression 2 could become Tropical Storm Bret some time today. The Atlantic storm started north of the Bahamas and is expected to stay off of the coast of Florida. At this point it is not expected to make landfall. Even as the tropical season is just heating up, Bradenton teenagers are participating this week in a designed to train them to respond to any kind of disaster,  including a hurricane.

4. The Bradenton Maurauders have eight home games in a row. And with all of those home games, the team has planned a week of hometown activities. The week will include Christmas in July, Faith Night, a ketchup vs. mustard condiment duel and Local Growers Night and culminate with a Brides and Baseball night. 5. , 3633 Cortez Rd W, is getting runners and others together tonight for a free run/walk from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. starting at the store. It is an opportunity to meet others who want to get out and exercise.
