5 Things You Need To Know Today: November 4

1. Tonight is opening night for "Bye, Bye Birdie," presented by the 's Music Theatre Ensemble. The rock-and-roll hit features timeless tunes such as, “Put On a Happy Face.” The musical opens at at 8 p.m. Friday.  Performances will also be held Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. in Neel Performing Arts Center, SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th Street West. Patrons will be greeted by SCF Collegiate School students in classic 1950s cars one hour prior to each show. General admission is $12. Tickets are $6 for students and college employees. 4. The is hosting its first fundraising walk at the Robinson Preserve on Saturday. The non-competitive walk and is open to all ages and abilities. The entry fee is $20 and participants are encouraged to collect donations in support of their walking efforts. Participants may enter individually, as a team of 5 or as a team of 10. Awards will be presented to the top three fundraisers.

5. Manatee County teachers will have an opportunity to pick up free supplies for their classrooms and students on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the “Teachers Wishing Well” at the , 2501 63rd Ave. E.
