5 Things You Need To Know Today: November 10
Manatee High and Lakewood Ranch face off tonight, schools across the county will honor veterans today and you can support troops by recycling your old cell phones.

1. The varsity football teams from and will face off tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Lakewood Ranch High School.
2. You can support the troops when you recycle your old or unused cell phones. AT&T and Cell Phones for Soldiers use proceeds from recycling unused phones to send free prepaid phone cards to U.S. troops serving overseas. Drop off your used cell phones and accessories at the AT&T store, 1313 Cortez Road West. Donors can also go to www.att.com/recycle to download free shipping labels and mail them in for recycling or request a free shipping envelope for recycling Recycling your old cell phone and accessories not only supports the troops overseas, it also helps protect the environment. 4. All government offices will be closed on Friday for Veteran's Day.
5. Make your reservations now for Department's new family program around the campfire at Robinson Preserve.
For the first time at Robinson Preserve, families will have the opportunity to enjoy the starry night sky around a campfire. Watch the sunset atop the observation tower. Learn about the nightlife of Robinson, while gazing at the night sky and observing stars and constellations. The night will end with storytelling around the campfire and a tasty treat. The program is free but reservations are required. The program will take place November 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The program is suitable for participants of all ages.
