3. The Manatee County School board voted 3-2 to approve the 2011-2012 education budget Thursday night. The calls for an increase in the millage rate.

4. will host a 9/11 memorial service at 12:15 p.m. at the out-door stage behind the student union on the Manatee capmus. The ceremony will begin with the Chamber Choir singing the national anthem. That will be followed by a welcome and Words of Remembrance. The poem "One" will be read aloud.
