BRADENTON, FL — An eight-foot alligator terrified a pizza delivery driver Sunday as it wandered through the River Isles neighborhood, so an officer stepped up to finish the job, the Bradenton Police Department wrote in a Facebook post. (Watch a video of the gator below.)

Officer Tolson responded to a report of the gator wandering the neighborhood and intercepted the pizza delivery driver.

The delivery driver sent a message to the customer to go to the back door because of the gator in her driveway, but she unknowingly went to the front door - just feet away from the reptile/

“After ensuring the hungry customer wasn't attacked by an equally hungry gator, Officer Tolson agreed to take the customer's phone and snap a picture for her,” police said. “[Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission] trappers relocated the gator away from the neighborhood (and Italian restaurants).”
