Accused Auto Burglar Busted At Bealls Headquarters

A 20-year-old man's alleged attempts to break into cars at the Bealls headquarters in Bradenton was foiled by a witness.

BRADENTON, FL — A 20-year-old man faces attempted burglary and resisting arrest without violence charges after Manatee County deputies say a witness caught him in the act of trying to break into cars Tuesday morning.

According to the sheriff’s office, the case against Christopher W. Jackson began to develop around 9:30 a.m. Jan. 10 in the parking lot of the Bealls corporate headquarters, 1806 30th Ave. E. A witness, an email from the agency said, watched as Jackson tried door handles on several vehicles parked in the lot. That witness called 911.

Before deputies arrived, Jackson fled the area. K9s units and others were called in, the email noted.
