Adoptable Dog of the Week: Abby Needs a Home

She's just one of the pets up for adoption at the county's downtown center.

This week's adoptable pet is Abby, a sweet German Shephard mix

Abby, a 2-year-old spayed female, wants a home where she can be around people. She will sit for a treat and listens well. She has been with Manatee County Animal Services since Sept. 6, when she was found abandoned in east Bradenton. You can visit Abby at the county's downtown adoption center or at the Palmetto adoption center for Animal Services next week. The downtown center is open even though a fence sits along the sidewalk.

November is a great month to adopt. Manatee County Animal Services is offering a fall adoption special. Prices have fallen 30 percent off. Dogs, regularly priced at $80, will be available for $56 throughout November. Cats, normally priced at $60 will be available for $42. Prices include spay/neuter, vaccinations, health check, current rabies certificate/tag and a microchip. This adoption special is another step in the County’s plan to become a no-kill community.

For more information, visit www.mymanatee.org/pets or call 941-742-5824. The animal services webpage features updated photos and descriptions of the pets available for adoption. Pet owners can also use the site to locate missing pets.
