Adoptable Dog of the Week: Blane is Playful

He's just one of the pets up for adoption at the county's downtown center.

This week's adoptable pet is Blane, a playful brindle Boxer mix.

Blane, an eight-month-old neutered male, is in need of a loving home. He's a happy dog who loves people. He has been with Manatee County Animal Services since Nov. 12, when he was found confined and alone. You can visit Blane at the county's downtown adoption center or at the Palmetto adoption center for Animal Services next week. The downtown center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. even though a fence sits along the sidewalk.

December is a great month to adopt. Manatee County Animal Services is offering a Christmas adoption special throughout the month of December. Adopt dogs for $40 and cats for $20, the price includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, health check, microchip and current rabies certificate/tag, a savings of $50 off dogs and $40 off cats. And if you go to the Animal Services building at 305 25th Street W. in Palmetto from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, dogs will be available for $30 and cats for $10. This adoption special is another step in the County’s plan to become a no-kill community.

For more information, visit www.mymanatee.org/pets or call 941-742-5824. The animal services webpage features updated photos and descriptions of the pets available for adoption. Pet owners can also use the site to locate missing pets.
