Adoptable Dog of the Week: Caleb Needs a Home

He's just one of the pets up for adoption at the county's downtown center.

This week's adoptable pet is Caleb, a loving chihuahua and dachsund mix.

Caleb is two years old and has been with Manatee County Animal Services since August 22, when he was picked up as a stray. Caleb dances when he sees people and while he's a little timid at first, he loves to snuggle. Visit Caleb at the county's downtown adoption center. Don't let the sidewalk construction out front fool you — the center is still open.

October is a great month to adopt a dog. Manatee County Animal Services is offering a $40 adoption special on all dogs for "Howl-O-Ween."  Cats can be adopted for $60, but look for the senior discounts. This adoption special is another step in the County’s plan to become a no-kill community.

For more information, visit www.mymanatee.org/pets or call 941-742-5824. The animal services webpage features updated photos and descriptions of the pets available for adoption. Pet owners can also use the site to locate missing pets.
