Adoptable Dog of the Week: Nick Loves Laps

This week's adoptable pet is Nick, an adorable miniature pincher.

Nick, a 2-year-old neutered male, will be available for adoption today at Canine Christmas. (Is it a coincidence that his name is Nick)? He is sweet dog who will curl up in your lap if you let him. He has been with Manatee County Animal Services since Nov 5, when he was found abandoned in a house in Bradenton. If you can't make today's event on the grounds of Bishop Animal Shelter, you can visit Nick at the county's downtown adoption center or at the Palmetto adoption center for Animal Services next week. The downtown center is open even though a fence sits along the sidewalk.

November is a great month to adopt. Manatee County Animal Services is offering a fall adoption special. Prices have fallen 30 percent off. Dogs, regularly priced at $80, will be available for $56 throughout November. Cats, normally priced at $60 will be available for $42. Prices include spay/neuter, vaccinations, health check, current rabies certificate/tag and a microchip. This adoption special is another step in the County’s plan to become a no-kill community.
