Adoptable Dog of the Week: Nicki Needs a Home
She's just one of the pets up for adoption at the county's downtown center.
This week's adoptable pet is Nicki, a playful and loving boxer mix.
Nicki is a year old and has been with Manatee County Animal Services since June 11, when she was surrendered by her owner. Nicki is extremely playful. She loves people and her toys. She knows her name and knows how to sit on command. She also enjoys a good tummy rub. She has been in the shelter for three months and just wants to find a good home. Visit Nicki at the county's downtown adoption center. Don't let the sidewalk construction out front fool you -- the center is still open.
September is a great month to adopt a dog like Nicki who has been in the shelter for more than a month. Manatee County Animal Services is offering adoption specials on all dogs and cats that have been at the shelter 30 days or longer. Dogs that have been at the shelter a month or more can be adopted for $30, a $50 savings off the regular adoption fee of $80. Cats, normally priced at $60, can be adopted for $10. This adoption special is another step in the County’s plan to become a no-kill community.
For more information, visit www.mymanatee.org/pets or call 941-742-5824. The animal services webpage features updated photos and descriptions of the pets available for adoption. Pet owners can also use the site to locate missing pets.
