Artists' Guild of Anna Maria Island

Artists' Guild of Anna Maria Island hosts meetings in Lowe Hall, Church of the Annunciation, 45th Street and 2nd Avenue, Holmes Beach, and unless otherwise stated, they begin at 6:30 PM for refreshments with the program starting at 7 PM.

Watercolorist Cheryl Jorgensen will talk about her art and history coming from Trinidad, as well as her class under the AGAMI umbrella.

JANUARY - 7th
What is it like to travel in Cuba now? Chris Collins, photographer and Guild Gallery exhibitor, travels there in December as part of a Grand Circle special educational tour and will share his insights. Learn more about Chris, who has lived on AMI for 41 years, and his careers, from piloting, to printing, to photographer and frame maker.

FEBRUARY- 4th, Daytime program starting at 1:30 PM

MARCH - 4th
Update on the Arts on the Island - the arts presence is increasing. Who are these artists and why did they choose to join us? Meet some of the new artists and their businesses, especially along Pine Avenue. Cultural Connections will introduce them, including Annie Wier from Arts for the Earth, Deb Webster from Artspace, Bob Brown with his new studio, and more.

APRIL - 1st
Plein Air Painting and Drawing, Urban Sketchers.... what is this about? A panel of local artists will share their practices and pleasures. Hosted by Joan Voyles and Roger Rockefeller, other artists will share their work and dialogue about why they enjoy doing this. What difference does it make in their art?

MAY - 6th
What do you know about the art form of Batik? Do you have a sarong but do not know how to wear it? Come to this meeting and learn about this art from a local business owner who specializes in handmade fabrics and will demonstrate many ways of draping this beautiful wrap.  Bring your sarong and practice.
