Auto Burglars Busted In Bradenton
While residents and a chopper spotted two accused auto burglars in action, a K9 helped bring them into custody.

BRADENTON, FL — Two 16-year-old boys reportedly bit off more than they could chew when they broke into a vehicle on Lavender Loop in Bradenton late Saturday night.
According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, the boys were spotted by residents and a police helicopter as they rummaged through a 53-year-old woman’s vehicle in the 12000 block of Lavender Loop around 11:45 p.m. May 6.

The agency said the boys “worked as a team” to gain entry to the vehicle and take out loose change and cash they found. Residents ran the two off, an email from the agency said, but “K9 Gerholdt was waiting nearby.”
It seems K9 Gerholdt chased the two through backyards in the neighborhood as orders for the boys to stop were issued. The two kept running, the sheriff’s office email said, and tossed the ill-gotten gains into a pond.

The boys, however, eventually gave up and were charged with auto burglary.
Patch is not releasing the names of the teens arrested due to their ages.
