Bicyclist Seriously Injured In U.S. 41 Crash: FL Highway Patrol

A bicyclist rode into the path of a pick-up truck on U.S. 41 in Manatee County Tuesday night, Florida Highway Patrol said.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A bicyclist was seriously injured after riding into the path of a pick-up truck on U.S. 41 Tuesday night, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The truck was traveling south in the middle lane, south of 57th Ave. W., when the bicyclist, a 62-year-old Bradenton woman, was heading north in the southbound lane of U.S. 41 just before 11:30 p.m.

After the bicyclist rode into the truck’s path, she was brought to HCA Florida Blake Hospital with serious injuries, FHP said.

The truck’s driver, a 37-year-old Sarasota man, was uninjured in the crash.
