Body Pulled From Lake Along Lake Bayshore Drive

The body is believed to be a homeless man. Authorities have not determined a cause of death.

The body of a homeless person was pulled from the lake at Bayshore on the Lake Condominiums this morning shortly after 9 a.m., according to the Manatee County Sheriff's office.

Deputies responded to a a call about a body in the lake at the condominium complex at 3600 Lake Bayshore Dr. Deputies located the body several feet from the shore. There were no obvious signs of trauma to the body, according to a sheriff's report. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. 

According to the report, deputies were able to tentatively identify the body as a 56-year-old homeless person known in the area.  A name will not be released until positive identification has been made and family has been notified.
