Boy, 15, Target Of Drug-Related Investigation

A Bradenton teen out on supervised release after a home invasion faces more charges after a Tuesday warrant search at his home.

BRADENTON, FL — A 15-year-old Bradenton boy out on supervised release following a home invasion arrest faces a fresh round of criminal charges after Manatee County deputies served a search warrant at his home on Tuesday.

According to the agency, deputies had been conducting an investigation into alleged criminal activities at the boy’s home in the 2600 block of 6th Street East. That investigation resulted in authorities obtaining a search warrant for the property.

The boy was witnessed “conducting several narcotics transactions at the residence just prior to the warrant being executed,” the sheriff’s office wrote in an email to media.

When deputies entered the home, they found 2.1 grams of marijuana, 0.1 grams of methylone, 0.3 grams of cocaine, a scale and packaging materials. Detectives also found a .22 caliber “GSG” firearm with a 110-round capacity drum magazine. The magazine had 41 rounds loaded, the sheriff's office said.

The teen was brought back into custody on drug-related charges.
