Boy, 15, Killed In U.S. 41 Pedestrian Crash
A 15-year-old boy was killed in a Thursday morning crash at U.S. 41 and 23rd Street East.

PALMETTO, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a Thursday morning crash that left a 15-year-old boy dead.
According to the agency, the vehicle versus pedestrian crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. 41 and 23rd Street East in Palmetto around 6:34 a.m. March 16. Troopers say John D'Auria, 64, of Tampa was driving a Lexus south on U.S. 41 approaching a green light at 23rd Street East. At that time, Myquarios Kelly was crossing "against the red in color pedestrian control signal, next to the crosswalk," a highway patrol report said.
D'Auria didn't see the boy and struck him with his vehicle, the report said.
