Bradenton Barbecue Is Ribs Champ

Along with a rack of ribs, T & L's Bar-B-Que & Soul Food has racked up something else: local fame.

T & L's Bar-B-Que & Soul Food Catering of Bradenton won the "Best Ribs" category this past weekend at the Gulf Coast Rhythm and Rib Fest, a regional competition held in Palmetto, according to the Bradenton Herald.

T & L's is located at 1116 C 14TH ST. W, Bradenton.

Owner Tikki Curry Sr. spoke to the Bradenton Herald about the win:


"We didn't do anything different this year so I really don't know why," said Tikki Curry Sr., the "T" in the business, who proudly carried a large $1,000 winner's check Sunday, the final day of the weekend event. "We serve them with a whole lotta love and a good dry rub."

Other winners were:

Johnson's Hickory-Smoked Barb-B-Que of Virginia, second place, "Best Ribs."

Johnson's Hickory-Smoked Barb-B-Que took, first place, Best Sauce, and J &J Bar-b-Que, another Bradenton business, second place.
