Bradenton Breaks Ground on New Urban Grocery Store

Construction set to begin on 13th Avenue Sav-A-Lot and surrounding shopping center.

Dignataries, neighborhood residents, activists and developers all gathered today to celebrate the ground breaking for a new urban shopping center anchored by a grocery store.

The new shopping center is designed to bring jobs to the neighborhood, as well as accessible and affordable groceries, restaurants and a financial institution.

The shopping center will be named for Minnie L. Rogers, a Bradenton native and community activist from the early 20th century.
