Bradenton Councilman’s Wife Killed in Crash

Patricia Gallo, wife of Bradenton City Councilman Gene Gallo, was killed in a Thursday crash.

BRADENTON, FL — The Bradenton Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of City Councilman Gene Gallo’s wife Thursday.

Patricia Gallo’s death has been confirmed by the police department. The crash occurred in the driveway of the couple's home in the 6600 block of 27th Avenue West around 12:22 p.m. Dec. 15.

Police say Patricia Gallo was the only occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash. The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation, an email from police said.

Gene Gallo serves as Bradenton's Ward 1 councilman. Patricia and Gene had been married for more than 50 years, according to the city’s website. The couple has four children, Sandy, Darenda, Tyler and Luke. Gene Gallo also served with the Bradenton Fire Department for more than 31 years, 11 as fire chief.

Gallo has been a member of the city council for nearly 25 years.
