Bradenton KFC Robbed at Gunpoint

A manager and cook were approached by an armed man as they left the State Road 64 East restaurant, deputies said.

A man with a gun robbed a Kentucky Fried Chicken in Bradenton after it closed Sunday night, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The assistant manager and cook were leaving the restaurant, 6520 State Road 64 East, around 12:18 a.m. Monday when they were greeted at the back door by a man "armed with some sort of long gun," according to a sheriff's report.

The suspect ordered both of them back into the restaurant, repeatedly telling them, "give me the money," the report states.

The man made off with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured.

Deputies and a K-9 tracked the suspect for about 75 yards to "where it was obvious a vehicle had been parked." They also found rolls of coins and currency along the shoulder of the road.

The suspect is described as wearing a black, long-sleeve shirt, black shorts and a black beanie cap.
