Bradenton Man Faces Child Porn Charges: FL Officials

BRADENTON, FL — A Bradenton man was arrested and faces multiple child pornography charges, according to a Florida Department of Law Enforcement news release.

Shane Thomas Womeldorff, 41, was charged with 10 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, second-degree felonies.

The FDLE investigation began in August after agents discovered a file-sharing network user downloading files containing the sexual abuse of children. Investigators identified Womeldorff as the user, the agency said.

A search warrant was conducted at Womeldorff’s home and agents seized multiple electronic devices. A subsequent forensic analysis found hundreds of files containing child sexual abuse material on the devices, FDLE said.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Womeldorff on the FDLE’s warrant on Oct. 24.
