Bradenton Pedestrian Killed In Weekend Crash
A 61-year-old Bradenton man was killed over the weekend when he was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado.

BRADENTON, FL -- A 61-year-old Bradenton man was killed over the weekend when he was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado along Business U.S. 41 and 37th Avenue West, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The victim was identified as Charles Clifford McLaughlin, who was taken to Blake Medical Center, FHP said. Alcohol results were pending.
Florida Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night.

The driver of the 2014 Silverado was identified as 22-year-old Alexander W. I. Rivera of Sarasota, according to Florida Highway Patrol, which said charges were pending as of Monday.
FHP said alcohol was not suspected in the case of Rivera.

McLaughlin was crossing the southbound lanes north of 37th Avenue West when he was struck.
FHP said Rivera swerved to avoid McLaughlin but struck him on the right side.
Troopers found a tire mark as well as paint and pieces of plastic along the southbound travel lane of 14th Street West.
