Bradenton Skate Park, Parts of Riverwalk Closing For Bridge Work
The skate park and parts of Riverwalk will close during Hernando Desoto Bridge Construction.

BRADENTON, FL — As the Florida Department of Transportation prepares to kick off construction on a $1.1 million improvement project on the Hernando Desoto Bridge, the agency reports a few points of interest in Bradenton will be shut down for a time.
“The skate park and portions of Riverwalk will be closed from early May through the end of August,” FDOT reported in a Thursday email to media. The bridge, however, will remain open to traffic during the project.
FDOT intends to begin working on the bridge on Monday, May 1. Improvements planned include concrete repairs, the installation of pipe jackets and repairs for the bridge’s fender system, the agency reported.
