Bradenton Stabbing Under Investigation

A 50-year-old man was stabbed Wednesday following a night of 'partying,' according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

BRADENTON, FL — The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Wednesday morning stabbing that left a 50-year-old man injured.

According to the agency, the victim told detectives he and another person had been partying together all night. The two got into an argument on Wednesday morning that led to a physical confrontation. The suspect, who has not been identified, is accused of pulling out a knife and slashing Andrew Velasquez in the upper body during the fight.

Velasquez was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are believed to be not life threatening. The sheriff’s office said it is working to identify the suspect. The incident occurred in in the Sabal Cove apartments in the 3000 block of 54th Drive East, the agency noted in a Wednesday email to media.
