Bradenton Under Hard Freeze Watch

National Weather Service calls for an overnight low of 32 degrees.

The National Weather Service has issued a hard freeze watch for Manatee County tonight as temperatures are expected to drop to an overnight low of 32 degrees.

The warning will be in effect from 9pm until 9am Tuesday. And the cold spell is expected to linger for at least another day, as more sub-freezing temperatures are expected Tuesday evening.

The National Weather Service said Monday an arctic airmass will continue to move into the region on strong and gusty northwest wins that will cause hazardous boating conditions across area lakes.

Tonight's forecast calls for a with a low around 32 with wind chill values as low as 25 and wind gusts as high as 28 mph. A low of about 33 is forecast for Tuesday night before temperatures get back into the 40s and 50s later this week.

Monday's hard freeze warning is also in effect for Sarasota, Levy, Citrus, Sumter, Hernando, Pasco, Hillsborough, Polk, Hardee DeSoto and Highlands counties this evening.
