Bradenton Woman Accused In Hit-And-Run Crash

A 23-year-old Bradenton woman has been charged in connection with a Sept. 15 hit-and-run crash.

BRADENTON, FL — A 23-year-old Bradenton woman was facing multiple charges Tuesday in connection with a Sept. 15 hit-and-run crash in which another driver was injured.

Alyssa Hinkle was booked into the Manatee County Jail for leaving the scene with injury and leaving the scene with property damage, according to a spokesperson for Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on 34th Street West and 4th Avenue Drive West in Manatee County.

"In the crash, Hinkle was driving a 2007 Jeep Cherokee, when she failed to yield the right of way to a 2014 Ford Mustang," the spokesperson explained. "The driver of the Mustang sustained an injury and was transported to a local area hospital."

Hinkle allegedly drove away on a blown rear tire.

"She eventually abandoned the Jeep at the intersection of Cortez Road and 59th Street West," the FHP spokesperson said.

"The Florida Highway Patrol reminds all drivers to make good choices behind the wheel, to include remaining on scene if involved in a crash," the spokesperson added.
