BRADENTON, FL — The intersection of 14th Street West (U.S. 41/Tamiami Trail) and 17th Avenue is closed over the next week for emergency utility repairs, the city of Bradenton wrote in a Facebook post.

Crews will work Saturday to speed up the repairs, which should be completed by Oct. 17.

Local detours are in place for drivers. Those heading south on 14th Street West can take eastbound 12th Avenue West to southbound 9th Street and then to westbound 21st Avenue West, city officials said.

Those traveling north on 14th Street West should head east on 21st Avenue West to northbound 9th Street West and then to westbound 12th Avenue West, the city said.

One lane will be open each way on U.S. 41 near the detour points at 21st Avenue West and 12th Avenue West.
