Cortez Rd. Scooter Crash Leaves Man Critically Injured
The motor scooter collided with a car Wednesday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A Palmetto man was critically injured when he was thrown from his motor scooter during a traffic crash Wednesday night on Cortez Road West in Bradenton.
A witness said Aaron R. Hill, 23, was "steering from side to side" as he headed east on Cortez in the left through lane around 9:40 p.m., according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
Hill's scooter then moved into the left turn lane, where it collided with the right side of a Nissan Versa that was making a left turn at 37th Street West, the report states.

The scooter overturned, and Hill was ejected onto the roadway.
Hill was taken to Blake Medical Center with critical injuries, authorities said.

He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. It was not clear if alcohol was a factor, according to the highway patrol's report.
The driver of the Nissan, 29-year-old Jason Anziano of Bradenton, was not injured.
No charges have been filed.
