Update: Fawley Bryant to Design Darwin's Bradenton Brewery

UPDATE: Fawley Bryant has been tapped by Darwin’s Brewing Company of Sarasota to plan and design the new microbrewery in downtown Bradenton. 

Fawley Bryant was also the architect for the recent improvements to McKechnie Fiel

The 6,000 square foot facility will include a full production microbrewery, tasting room and a beer garden/outdoor music venue.

Darwin Brewing Company to Join "Craft Beer Revolution" in Bradenton

The old Bradenton Press building, 803 17th Ave. W., will be the new home of Darwin Brewing Company, a distribution center for the Sarasota-based company. 

Chef Darwin Santa Maria and his partner Bill Cornelius of Darwin’s on 4th in Sarasota closed on the building Monday where they plan to open a production brewery in addition to their microbrewery/restaurant in downtown Sarasota. Santa Maria said he hopes to distribute their product all over the state.

“The goal and the dream has always been to create a full-scale local brewery and event space and it’s finally happening,” Santa Maria said in a press release. “We’re thrilled. Plus, we feel great about joining the exciting craft beer revolution happening here in Bradenton. We will be very involved with the community and look forward to showcasing local artists, musicians and more at the brewery.”

Two more microbreweries are set to open in Bradenton in the coming months. Motorworks Brewing Co., 1014 9th St., this August and Little Giant Brewery, 301 7th St. E., in October.  And several others, including JDub’s, 1215 Mango Ave., and Big Top Brewing Co., 6111 Porter Way, will be opening in Sarasota by the end of the year.

Plans for the brewery include a tasting room, beer garden, and a stage for live music. The production line includes canning, kegging and growlers.

While construction is in progress in Bradenton, Darwin’s on 4th in Sarasota will continue serving a monthly beer on First Friday Firkins events, beer dinners and complimentary tastings every Wednesday.
