Death Investigation Underway After 2 Shootings: Bradenton Police

A 43-year-old woman returning home from the grocery store was killed in one of a pair of shootings in Bradenton Tuesday night, police said.

BRADENTON, FL — A pair of Tuesday night shootings that left one woman dead are under investigation, according to a Bradenton Police Department news release.

Bradenton police and the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Task Force are investigating the shootings.

In the first shooting, the suspects fired at least 10 rounds in the 2400 block of 8th Avenue E., damaging homes and vehicles.

In the second shooting, the 43-year-old victim, who was returning home from grocery shopping, was struck by gunfire while in her car in the 2100 block of 15th Avenue E. just after 7:30 p.m., police said.

The suspects fired more than 30 rounds in the block.

Responding officers provided emergency aid to the woman until EMS arrived. She was brought to a local hospital, but died from her injuries overnight, police said.

Investigators determined that the woman was not the intended victim.
