Deputy Fatally Shot Armed Suspect During Standoff In Bradenton: Manatee County Sheriff
An armed suspect was shot and killed by deputies during a three-hour standoff in Bradenton, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.
BRADENTON, FL — A deputy fatally shot an armed suspect during a late Wednesday night standoff in Bradenton that lasted more than three hours, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Deputies responded to a home in the 800 block of 63rd Avenue W. to serve a search warrant related to an ongoing armed robbery investigation around 6 p.m.
The suspect opened fire on the deputies when they arrived, prompting MCSO to deploy its SWAT team.

During negotiations with the barricaded suspect, he fired additional shots at deputies, the sheriff’s office said.
SWAT members returned fire in response and fatally wounded the suspect, whose name will be released after his next of kin is notified.

No deputies were injured during the incident, the agency said.
