Deputy Rescues Unconscious Child in Pool
An off-duty deputy spotted a 7-year-old child floating face down in a pool at a private residence in Bradenton, where several people were swimming.

A quick-thinking deputy rescued a 7-year-old child from drowning at a residence in the 200 block of 50th Street West, Bradenton.
According to the Manatee County Sheriff, Deputy Joseph Scott was swimming in a neighbor's pool at about 6:45 p.m., Wednesday, April 17. Several children were playing in the pool.
Scott noticed 7-year-old Malechi Sable floating face down in the pool. He removed the child from the pool and saw that she was not breathing.

Scott began to administer CPR, while another adult called 911. Paramedics resuscitated the child and transported her to Blake Hospital. She is expected to make a full recovery.
