Driver Died After Hitting Fence, Trees On State Road 64, FL Troopers Say
An Englewood man died in a single-car crash on State Road 64 in Manatee County, FL Highway Patrol said.
MANATEE COUNTY, FL — An Englewood man died after he lost control of his car on State Road 64 in Manatee County before hitting a fence and two trees on Monday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
The 53-year-old was heading west on S.R. 64, west of Duette Road, in a Honda Accord at the time of the crash, just before 4 p.m.
He drove into the road’s eastbound lane and entered the north shoulder before hitting a fence, FHP said.

The car then continued west and hit two trees before coming to a stop.
The driver was brought to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The FHP Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the crash.
