Driver Killed in Early Morning Shooting
Bradenton police were called to the scene after hearing shots fired. They found a man dead behind the wheel of his car.

The is searching for information about an early morning shooting on Martin Luther King Drive East that left a driver dead.
At 4:14 am today Bradenton Police offices heard several shots on in the 2000 block of Martin Luther King Drive East, according to a police report. As officers were heading to the location, dispatch received a call reporting that someone had been shot in the 600 block of 21st Street East. According to the report, the caller could not identify or describe the shooter.
When officers arrived they found a dead man who had been driving a vehicle. The man had been shot. Police are not releasing the man's identity until his next-of-kin is notified.

According to Captain Warren Merriman, the motive and circumstances behind this homicide are not known at this time. Detectives are following up on leads today.
