6-Year-Old Drowning Victim's Body Found

The body of a 6-year-old boy who was pulled underwater by rip currents off Coquina Beach was recovered Monday morning near Anna Maria Island.

Bradenton Beach police confirmed on Monday, April 22, that Lamontea Taylor's body had been found. The body was recovered by a Fish and Wildlife Officer at 10 a.m., according to Bradenton.com. Lamontea was a student at Samoset Elementary School.

The boy was last seen early Saturday evening, when he was playing at Coquina Beach with family members. A search was called off Sunday evening, and the boy was presumed dead.
