DUI Wolfpack Ready To Prowl Manatee, Sarasota Counties
The Florida Highway Patrol has announced a DUI Wolfpack operation for Sarasota and Manatee counties this weekend.

BRADENTON, FL — Motorists with party plans for the upcoming weekend will want to think twice about getting behind the wheel impaired. The Florida Highway Patrol has announced plans for a DUI Wolfpack operation that includes Manatee and Sarasota county roads.
According to the agency, troopers will hit the road around 9 p.m. on Friday, May 12. The operation is expected to continue until about 5 a.m. on Saturday.

The operation is set up to focus on major state and county roads in Sarasota, Manatee, Hardee and Desoto counties. Interstate 75 is also included, but troopers won’t say exactly where they’ll be at any given time.
“Troopers conducting the detail will be mobile while monitoring traffic to maximize their visibility and effectiveness in removing impaired drivers from roadways,” an email from the agency said.

Motorists in Florida are considered impaired if they have blood alcohol content levels of 0.08 or higher. Drivers under the age of 21 are deemed impaired with BACs of 0.02 or higher.
Motorists who encounter impaired or aggressive drivers are asked to pull over to a safe spot and call *FHP from their cellphones.
