Want to know what to do if a tornado comes or how to help open a shelter when a hurricane threatens? Teens aged 14-18 who attend American Red Cross Teen Disaster Camp will learn this and more during the week-long series of training, drills and field trips.
The American Red Cross believes that young people can play an important role in preparing for and responding to disasters and want to empower teens to help in our community. During this week teens will have the opportunity to get training and put that training into practice in drills, such as a hazardous materials drill, a mobile feeding drill and a shelter drill. By the end of the week they will be ready to put their knowledge and skills to use to help our community prepare for and respond to disasters.
July 24-29 at westside Red Cross, 2905 59th St W, Bradenton
