Fishermen Rescued Off Longboat Key
The U.S.Coast Guard saved five people aboard the fishing vessel, Miss Shannon, after it began to take on water.

The U.S. Coast Guard rescued five people aboard a commercial fishing vessel off Longboat Key Monday after it began taking on water.
The Miss Shannon fishing boat was one and a half miles south of Longboat Pass Monday morning when a crew member contacted Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg watchstanders.
The bow of the boat was taking on water. The boat was anchored and in need of assistance.

A 45-foot response boat from Coast Guard Station Cortez arrived on scene, took the Miss Shannon and its crew in tow to Cortez Cove Boatworks for repair.
No injuries were reported.
