FL Man With Married To 3 Women At The Same Time Faces Bigamy Charges

A FL man met three women on dating apps and married them in three different counties, a report say.

FLORIDA — A man with wives in Hernando, Manatee and Duval counties is facing bigamy charges over his three marriages, according to a WFTS report.

The news outlet first reported that Henry Betsey, at different times, married Michele, Brandi and Tonya — all women he met on dating apps and all women who now share his last name after courthouse weddings.

The Seminole County man was reportedly not divorced from either wife before marrying the next woman.

“He took each one of us to a county over to get married,” Brandi Betsey told WFTS.

Bigamy is a third-degree felony in Florida, punishable by a fine up to $5,000 and a maximum of five years in prison.

Pinellas County Clerk Ken Burke, with the notion that getting married in Florida is effortless, told WFTS that marriage applications surround an honor system.

“They swear that the information on the application is correct," Burke told the outlet. "And one of the things they have to show is that if they were married previously, how did the marriage end in either death, divorce or annulment."

This may not have been the case with Henry Betsey, WFTS reported.

He was arrested last year at his Seminole County home, and after pleading not guilty, a court hearing was scheduled for this month, the news outlet reported.
