FPL Sending Crews to Hurricane-Stricken Areas
The Florida utility will deploy more than 500 workers to Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
FPL is marshaling 560 workers, along with equipment, to send to hurricane-stricken areas to help restore power, the public utility announced Sunday.
Workers will provide assistance in parts of Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
Monday morning, 10 FPL trucks, with 20 workers, will gather in Ellenton to form a convoy and head to the Northeast. The media are invited to attend the briefing for workers in the parking lot of the Ellenton Ice & Sports Complex.
