Gang Members from Bradenton's 'Brown Pride Locos' Face Jail Time

Convicted by a jury on racketeering charges, one gang member faces up to 60 years in prison.

A member of the Bradenton gang known as the “Brown Pride Locos” faces up to 60 years in prison after a Manatee County jury found him guilty of of racketeering and conspiracy charges . 

Raul Mondragon, AKA “Sleep,” is scheduled to be sentenced next month. Several other members of the gang pleaded guilty to racketeering and conspiracy charges rather than face a jury.

They are: Juan Carlos Hernandez, Jessie Scott Fuentes and Moises Antunes.

“This gang terrorized neighborhoods with shootings, robberies, assaults, and drug dealing, and this verdict makes Manatee County safer," said Attorney General Pam Bondi in a statement Tuesday.

The prosecution demonstrates the commitment of the Attorney General’s office, and state, federal and local law enforcement to identify, target and dismantle gangs that perpetrate violence and victimize entire communities, according to the Attorney General's office.

The Bradenton Police Department, Manatee County Sheriff’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office for the 12th Judicial Circuit participated in the investigation, arrest and prosecution.
