FARMERS MARKET

When/Where: Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at downtown Bradenton
Why go? It's the opening of the season for the Bradenton Farmer's Market and organizers want you to ‘Get Your Pink On’ to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Tickets on sale for the ‘Save the Hooters’ scooter chance drawing. Passerine performs traditional folk & bluegrass, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Keeton's will host an art project from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Lee Middle School students will showcase their talents from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Downtown merchants are also collaborating on prizes for those who get into the Pink spirit. Lucky Dog's promises a pink ribbon prize for the first 10 people dressed in pink who walk through the door. The person wearing the most pink ribbon apparel between noon and 12:15 will receive a $20 gift certificate to Lucky Dogs and will have their picture posted on Bradenton Patch. The restaurant opens at 11 a.m. McCabes will give the first five customers who come in wearing pink after 1 p.m. a free draft beer or well drink.
Pricing: Free to get in. But bring your wallet because there is a lot of fun stuff for sale.

SOUND OF MUSIC

When/Where: Performances are Thursday at 7:30 p.m.,  Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. All performances are at 102 Old Main Street.
Why Go: Rain drops on roses, whiskers on kittens, and so much more makes this final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein one of theater's favorite shows.

PROSPECT RIDING CENTER OPEN HOUSE

When/Where: Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., 34250 SR 70 East, Myakka City 
Why go? The therapuetic riding center will offer hay rides, lesson demonstrations, free food and door prizes.
Pricing: Better than free! Every person in attendance will receive a free pass to Desoto Super Speedway.
